Case study

Workshop manuals for Fiat Group automobiles

Fiat Group logo and car

After consultation with Fiat, Juliet set up a small group of four freelance colleagues, each with at least five years’ translating experience, and a reviser who also helped project-manage the work together with Juliet.

Internet-based file-sharing techniques were used to share source and target files, translation memories, reference material and glossaries.

A newsgroup was set up on which the team posted queries that were answered by Juliet for the benefit of the entire team and the results were used to build an ongoing glossary and style guide specific to Fiat translations.

The result: high-quality, cost-effective translations with fast turnaround and the satisfaction of a secure and collaborative working experience for the translators involved.
